Befil Review – My Personal Experience Taking Befil

Thank you for visiting Mommy Lynn Blog. My name is Will and I am from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The above is a picture of me when I visited Osaka, Japan together with my wife Lynn back in November 2023.

In this article, I will be sharing my personal experience taking the Belixz Befil Botanical Beverage product from BE International.

What is Belixz Befil?

Befil is a 360° Heart Health Formulation meaning it is a complete solution to take care of your heart.

Before you read further, as a disclaimer, I do not have any medical background.

The reason I wrote this article is for me to document and record my own experience using Befil, my findings from reading the product catalog, reference notes and research online.

Please do your own research to find the answer you are looking for.

That being said, when I first read the Befil product booklet, I was very intrigued by what it has to offer.

Firstly, Befil main focus is on taking care of your heart.

Our heart is like the engine of our body and if it is not in good shape, we will experience many health issues.

What is a good indicator on the status of your heart?

Well, it is your Blood Pressure (BP) of course.

If you have elevated or high blood pressure, that is an indication that there is something not right with your body blood circulation system and your heart is working extra hard to compensate.

Following my car analogy, having high BP is like revving your engine all the way in the Redline zone when you drive everyday.

Engine redlining

There is only so much your heart and your blood vessel can take.

If you don’t take some preventive measures, sooner or later, it will cause permanent damage to your body.

High blood pressure in Malaysia & Singapore

How big is the issue of high blood pressure in Malaysia?

According to a news report by nst.com.my:

One in three adult Malaysians have hypertension

I believe the news report is quite accurate because I was once in the statistic.

I was once in the borderline of being in the hypertension category.

I also know of many people in my work environment that has high blood pressure.

One of my office colleague fainted and has to be hospitalised for more than 1 week due to high BP caused by stressed.

In the end, she had to resign from her corporate position to take care of her health.

In my family circle, my father, sister, brother-in-law and cousins were also diagnosed with high blood pressure and had to be on medication.

Yes, based on my personal circle of friends and family, high blood pressure is very common in Malaysia.

How about you? How many of your friends and family that you know have high BP?

How big is the issue of high blood pressure in Singapore?

According to the National University of Singapore website:

Slightly less than 1 in 4 Singapore residents aged 30 to 69 years have hypertension. The older you are, the more likely you are to have hypertension. In the 60 – 69 years age group, more than 1 in 2 persons have hypertension.

High blood pressure is a prevalent issue in both Malaysia and Singapore and that’s why I took a strong interest on Befil when it was launched by BE International.

Reason for my interest is because I wanted to know what are the approaches I can take in order to bring my BP lower to the normal level without having to take drugs or medication.

My interest was sparked when I read a news report saying that high blood pressure was redefined to 130/80 mm Hg instead of 140/90 mm Hg.

You can read about the redefinition news article here.

I was very concern when I read the news report because with the new redefinition, I may be in the hypertension group!

I did further research and found a report from Ministry of Health Malaysia.

The report was titled Management of Hypertension (5th Edition).

Management of Hypertension 5th

The following are some of the key points that I got from the report:

  • Hypertension is defined as persistent elevation of systolic BP of 140 mm Hg or greater and / or diastolic BP of 90 mm Hg
  • A systolic BP of 120 to 139 mm Hg and / or diastolic BP of 85 to 89 mm Hg is defined as ‘at risk blood pressure’ and should be treated in certain high risk groups.
  • Hypertension is a silent disease; unfortunately, in 2015, for every two
diagnosed patients in Malaysia there are 3 undiagnosed patients. This has not changed since 2011. Blood pressure should be measured at every chance encounter.

Blood pressure should be measured at every chance encounter. For a healthy individual, your target BP should be below 120/80 mm Hg.

Understanding your Blood Pressure (BP)

Do you know how your blood pressure is measured?

When you measure your blood pressure, there are 2 numbers you should understand. The numbers are:

Systolic – measures the pressure in your blood vessels when your heart beats.

Diastolic – measures the pressure in your blood vessels when your heart rests between beats.

Both of the numbers are measured in a scale called “millimeters of mercury” (mm Hg).

If your blood pressure measurement reads 120 systolic and 80 diastolic, you would say “120 over 80” or write “120/80 mm Hg.”

Which is a more important reading you should observe for heart health?

After reading a few medical authoritative sites, it seems the current view is to give more emphasis on Systolic readings.

According to Harvard Health Publishing website:

While both numbers in a blood pressure reading are essential for diagnosing and treating high blood pressure, doctors primarily focus on the top number, also known as systolic pressure.

Systolic pressure reflects the force produced by the heart when it pumps blood out to the body, while diastolic blood pressure (the bottom number) is the pressure in your blood vessels when the heart is at rest.”

Over the years, research has found that both numbers are equally important in monitoring heart health.

Befil formulation

In this section, I thought of sharing some information on Befil formulation.

Most of the information will be from the product booklet / filing itself and I also did some deep dive into the topic just to learn more on the subject.

Let’s begin with the main focus of Befil, which is our heart.

More specifically, what causes an unhealthy heart.

There are many factors that lead to an unhealthy heart. Some of the factors are:

  1. Aging
  2. Having high cholesterol
  3. High high blood pressure
  4. High stress
  5. Unhealthy eating habits
  6. Unhealthy lifestyle
  7. Being overweight
  8. Smoking tobacco
  9. Having a family history of heart disease
  10. Having diabetes

The above are just 10 and I am sure there are more factors.

The end result of all the bad factors above is your heart having to work harder and also poor blood circulation round your body.

When you have poor blood circulation, it will lead to issues such as:

  • Lower brain function – memory loss, headaches, fainting spells etc
  • Chest pain –  shortness of breath, dizziness, heart disease etc
  • Erectile dysfunction –  reduced libido
  • Micro circulation – cold hands and feet and numbness of limbs

The key question is, how do you reverse the effect of poor blood circulation?

The obvious answer is to change your lifestyle. Start by having a regular exercise regime and adopt a healthy diet.

Next, you should start taking natural health supplement to strengthen your heart.

And that is where the Befil 360° Heart Health Formulation comes into the picture.

The formulation

What is the difference in Befil product formulation?

Firstly, the consultant for the formulation is Professor Ferid Murad.

Most people would not have heard of him.

Neither have I.

Dr. Murad is a physician and a pharmacologist. He is a well known expert in his field.

Dr. Murad was a co-winner of the 1998 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine on the discoveries concerning nitric oxide (NO) as a signaling molecule in the cardiovascular system.

Dr. Murad’s qualification is important because he is an expert on nitric oxide (NO), which is one of the key factor in Befil formulation.

Befil from BE International

The benefits of Befil

Based on the product booklet, there are 4 key benefits of Befil. These benefits are:

  1. Cleanse the blood vessel
  2. Smoothens blood flow
  3. Cardiac bioenergetics
  4. Antioxidant

In the following section, I will delve deeper into the individual benefits proposed.

1) Cleanse the blood vessel

How does Befil helps to clean up your blood vessel?

It does so by:

  • Dilates the blood vessel
  • Helps to dissolve plaque
  • Prevent plaque formation
  • Keeps blood vessels pliable and elastic

The above can be achieved with a component known as L-arginine.

What is L-arginine?

According to mayoclinic.org:

L-arginine is an amino acid that helps the body build protein.

L-arginine are commonly found in most protein-rich foods such as fish, red meat, poultry, soy, whole grains, beans and dairy products.

Based on research, L-arginine can help to improve the quality of life in people with a mild to severe form of chest pain.

It can also help to lower blood pressure and improve sexual function in men with erectile dysfunction (ED) due to a physical cause.

Inside our body, L-arginine is converted into a chemical component known as nitric oxide (NO).

2) Smoothens blood flow

The second benefit proposed by Befil is smoothens blood flow in our circulatory system.

This is achieved through the usage of tomato extract.

Why tomato extract? What is so special about it?

From the product booklet, the benefits of tomato extract are:

  • Helps to maintain healthy platelet aggregation
  • Boosts and maintains healthy blood flow
  • Helps to regulate blood pressure

According to theguardian.com:

A substance found in tomatoes relieves impairment of blood vessels, which may explain why people who eat a Mediterranean diet have a notably reduced incidence of cardiovascular disease.

The substance the study referred to is lycopene.

Lycopene is a carotenoid pigment and phytochemical found in tomatoes and other red fruits and vegetables, such as red carrots, watermelons, gac, and papayas.

It is a powerful antioxidant which is 10 times more potent than vitamin E.

It also has the ability to improve and normalise the function of the endothelium (the inner lining of blood vessels).

Endothelium

Researchers have found that lycopene helps to widen our blood vessels therefore allowing our blood to flow smoothly.

Here’s an interesting fact.

Do you know that tomato extract is the first ingredient with an approved European Food Safety Authority article 13.5 health claim and is backed by strong scientific evidence?

This means the health benefits of tomato extract has long been researched with scientific documentation.

3) Cardiac bioenergetics

Bioenergetics is the field of how living organisms acquire and transform energy in order to perform biological work.

Cardiac bioenergetics therefore is the science on how our heart harnesses energy from a variety of metabolic pathways.

Because the heart muscle produces more than 90% of its energy from mitochondrial respiration, it is a highly oxidative tissue.

To relieve the oxidative stress, the formulation uses CoQ10.

CoQ10 is a fat-soluble, vitamin-like substance that helps convert food into energy.

It is also a powerful antioxidant that protects against damage from toxic free radicals.

Therefore, the added CoQ10 is able to:

  • Helps to fuel cardiac muscles
  • Improve cardiac muscles
  • Promote healthy heart function

4) Antioxidant effect

To provide additional antioxidant effect, the formulation uses extract from beetroot and pomegranate.

Beetroot is highly beneficial due to its nitrate component.

Beetroot

Nitrate is one of the compounds in beetroot juice that converts into nitric acid in the blood and help widen and relax blood vessels.

Have you tried beetroot juice before?

At healthline.com, the writer shared 12 health benefits from drinking beetroot juice.

Next, we have pomegranate.

What is it?

Pomegranate, or Punica granatum, is a shrub that produces a red fruit.

Pomegranate
Pomegranate

It is actually categorised as a berry.

Pomegranate fruit is about 5 – 12 cm in diameter.

It is red, round and looks kind of like a red apple with a flower-shaped stem.

Pomegranate is highly nutritious.

At naturalfoodseries.com, you can read about the 11 impressive health benefits of the fruit.

In Befil formulation, the combination of both beetroot and pomegranate provides:

  • Strong antioxidant effects to combat free radicals
  • Protect nitric oxide (NO) against oxidative destruction
  • Enhance the biological actions of NO
  • Helps to inhibit oxidation and bad cholesterol
  • Protects endothelial cells and inhibits vascular damage

My personal experience taking Befil

So far, I have done quite alot of reading online on the features and benefits of Befil.

All the science literature is very comprehensive, but what I wanted to know is, does it work?

Will it actually lower my blood pressure?

That is the end objective of me writing this article.

In order to know the answer, I would have to consume Befil and start tracking my blood pressure daily.

That is exactly what I did.

I actually bought an electronic blood pressure monitor device for the test.

BP monitor with Befil
Befil with my BP monitor

The test period was set for 2 weeks.

First, I had to establish my base level blood pressure.

I’ve fixed the time of the day to measure my BP at 6 am every morning before I had my breakfast.

The time I took my BP measurement was the same because I didn’t want any variable to affect my test results.

I spent 3 mornings measuring my BP and I’ve established my baseline BP at around 124/85 mm Hg.

My blood pressure benchmark
My blood pressure benchmark

Then I started consuming 1 sachet of Befil.

Mixing the formulation is quite simple. All I had to do was pour the powder into a cup and add room temperature water.

After a quick stirring, the powder dissolved easily in the water.

The mixture has a fruity taste and I quite like it.

My results

After a period of almost 2 weeks, I will now share my test results.

As mentioned above, my baseline BP before I consumed Befil is at around 124/85 mm Hg. I am in the pre-hypertension category.

I’ve started taking Befil on 21/8/2018.

I had taken my BP measurement every morning and the following are the results.

My BP result

My target for a healthy BP is below 120/80 mm Hg.

After taking Befil, my average morning BP was 114 / 85 mm Hg.

So far, my systolic reading has reduced to 114 from my benchmark of 124 mm Hg.

For my diastolic, there are still room to go lower. My target is to get it below 80 mm Hg.

So what was my conclusion after the test?

In just a short time frame of about 2 week, after consuming 1 sachet of Befil daily, I experienced a drop on my BP systolic reading. My average daily reading was below 118 mm Hg.

I will continue with the test just to see what are the long term effects of Befil.

How to buy Befil?

How do you buy the Belixz Befil product?

You can actually register as a member of BE International and purchase it direct from the company via online.

I have visitors of this blog asked, “How come there are different prices for Befil on Lazada, Shopee, Mudah, Qoo10 etc?”

Many people do not know that BE International has never authorise anyone to sell its product on 3rd party online marketplaces.

Therefore, if you see a seller on online marketplaces such as Lazada, Shopee, Mudah etc, know that these are illegal sellers and whatever BE’s product that they are trying to sell has no product warranty from the company whatsoever.

Worst still, the product they are selling might be fake and they are just trying to scam your money.

BE International has received many complains in regards to illegal sellers of its product and have issued a Solemn Declaration statement to inform the public below.

Solemn Declaration

If you want to purchase Befil, my suggestion is to register as a member of BE International and buy it direct from the company.
