Currently, I have my network of distributors located in Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Hong Kong and Indonesia.
In this article, I will share with you 3 ways to generate unlimited leads for your MLM business.
If you are building a network marketing business, there are 2 types of leads which you can generate.
The types of leads are:
- Product leads
- Business opportunity leads
For this article, my focus will be on how to generate business opportunity leads.

Let’s begin.
1. Free leads
The first option is free leads which you can contact for your MLM business opportunity.
But as a note of advice, free leads usually are low quality leads.
One good example of free leads are the contact number of property agents.
Do you know where to get the contact number of property agents in Malaysia?
You can easily find the property agents’ contact number on most online property listing portals.
An example of online property listing portal in Malaysia is propertyguru.com.my/.
Above is a screen capture of the portal “Find An Agent” section.
As you can see, there are 1937 property agents in the Kuala Lumpur area alone.
The names and contact number of all the property agents are listed.
The are a few key issues with free leads that I wanted to discuss.
The issues are:
How qualify are the leads?
How interested are they on your business opportunity?
How effective are you in creating rapport and building relationship with a very cold market and asking if they are open to a new business opportunity.
How emotionally invested are you when these cold contacts reject your business opportunity offer?
I know some people that started a MLM business came from the professional selling career and they have no problem when people scold them on the phone or hang up on them.
If your confident is bullet proof and you can handle it, by all means try contacting the free leads which you can get online.
From my experience building my network marketing business, most new people will not be able to handle such rejection.
If you have new people joining you as your business partner, be careful when they want to approach cold contacts.
If they can’t handle the rejection, best not to use the free leads.
2. Talk to your friends and family
The second method of getting leads for your MLM business is the trial and tested friends and family members.
This is known as your warm market.
Contacting friends and family member is how I got started.
This method is effect for a lot of people.
As for me, contacting my family members was effective…for getting customers.
My mother, sisters and sister-in-laws were actually the initial customers for my MLM business.
However, none of them were my business partner.
Nonetheless, I do know alot of successful network marketers that grew their business with their friends and family members.
These are the most effective and responsive leads because your friends and family members know and trust you.
Unfortunately, before I got started in my business, I was a stay at home mom and housewife for almost 10 years.
When I told my family members I’ve started a business and looking for business partners, they weren’t very confident that I could be successful.
They would rather support me as a customer only.
Some of your new downlines may not have any sales or business background, just like me.
When they are connecting with their friends and family members, understand that at some point, they will run out or warm market leads.
What happens when they ran out of warm market leads?
Usually, they will head off to social media and start spamming anyone and everyone.
Yes, that is very common and happens all the time.
When you’ve exhausted all your warm market leads, what should you do?
Simple, create a new warm market!
You need to create an audience of people who ALREADY have the traits you’re looking for such as:
The drive.
The determination to get more out of life.
The ambition to acquire new skills.
And, most important of all…
The INTERNAL motivation to jump on an opportunity without needing to be sold or be convinced about any of the above.
Makes sense, right?
How do you find these high quality prospect?
That will lead to the third way of getting leads for your MLM business which is Attraction Marketing.
3. Attraction marketing
Attraction marketing is a different method of using online and social media to generate unlimited business opportunity leads for your MLM business.
How does it work?
To use attraction marketing, you first become a person that provides value.
You become a person that opens up meaningful conversation that other people want to join in.
Being a person that is interested in the industry that you are in and willing to share your knowledge and experience to help others succeed.
What you don’t do is pitch your business opportunity or product online or on social media every day and night.
Instead, you position yourself as a “value giver”.
When people read your blog posts or Facebook posts, or watch your Facebook Live videos, they will be attracted to the type of information and content you are sharing.
They are getting value out of it.
They want more of it and they will seek you out.
Rather than you chasing the leads, now the leads are chasing you because you are using “attraction marketing”.
When they reached out to you, that is when you start to qualify whether they are the person you want to be part of your team.
Do they have a strong desire?
Are they willing to learn?
Are they willing to work hard and scarify to achieve their dream?
If they have all the above, you just found the ideal business partner for your MLM business.
In summary, attraction marketing is all about attracting the right leads and people into your network marketing business by providing value first.
