Thank you for visiting Mommy Lynn Blog. My name is Lynn and I am from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The above is a picture of my husband and I when we visited Osaka, Japan.
My husband and I have been building our network marketing business using the BE International business opportunity since March 2018.
We did quite well in the business.
Our trip to Japan was fully sponsored by BE International when we qualified for the BE Lifestyle Travel campaign.
BE Lifestyle Travel campaign is a sales campaign held twice a year where the qualifier can get to travel overseas free of charge!
This is one of the many benefits building the BE business.
In the BE business, one of the most popular functional food product is the Belixz I-Vxion from Japan.
I-Vxion is a product specially for our eye health.
In this article, I thought of sharing why you should give I-Vxion to your kids.
Kids eye health
Why do kids need to take supplement for their eyes?
If you have children at home, I think you’ll know that they spend long hours staring at the smartphone or TV watching YouTube.
My husband and I have 2 daughters in primary school.
Though we try our best not to give a smartphone to our children, but they have to look at a tablet or laptop screen when they had to study at home during the Covid-19 lockdown.
Compared to us adults, children nowadays spend a longer hours staring at the smart device screen.
Do you know how many hours your child’s screen time in a day?
According to a paper published on National Library of Medicine titled “Predictors of Parental Barriers to Reduce Excessive Child Screen Time Among Parents of Under-Five Children in Selangor, Malaysia: Cross-sectional Study”:
Screen time refers to the total amount of time a person spends passively on any screen-based technology such as smartphone, tablet, video game, computer, television, or any wearable device.
What is the average Malaysian kid screen time?
Locally, two Malaysian surveys found that 27% to 52% of children aged younger than 6 years were exposed to television and other devices (computers, tablets, and smartphones) for more than 2 hours per day.
I think it is fair to say kids nowadays spend at least 2 hours screen time per day on a weekday.
On the weekend, my kids spend at least 2 hours screen time in the morning before lunch time!
My main concern on staring at a device screen is the blue light.
According to mymyopia.com:
“According to a recent National Eye Institute-funded study, children’s eyes absorb more blue light than adults’ from digital device screens.
Blue light from computer screens and digital devices can also lead to digital eye strain.
Many researchers and eye doctors are concerned that the added blue light exposure from computers and digital devices might increase a person’s risk of age-related eye diseases like macular degeneration later in life.”
Kids exposed to blue light emitted from a digital device screen have a higher risk of developing age-related eye diseases like macular degeneration later in life!
As a parent, I think the above statement is quite scary. Don’t you think so?
How do we protect our kids from the blue light emitted from digital device screen?
The best way is to take the device away from our kids.
But that is easier said that done.
The next best option is to give supplement to our kids to protect their eyes.
In Malaysia, there a couple of eye supplements for kids product such as:
- VitaHealth Kids Blu-Lite Shield
- Nature’s Way Kids A+ Blue Light Gummies
- Spring Health Lutien C
- Bioplus Junior Kidzberry Gummy with Lutien & Lycopene
- PharmaSelect Nutrakids Berries & Lutein Chewable Tablet
- Vitarealm Power Eye Kids
- US Clinicals Strong Eye Kids chewable tablets
This is where the Belixz I-Vxion from Japan by BE International can help.
The picture above shows the content of Belixz I-Vxion in powder form.
Just pour the power into your children’s mouth and drink water.
What is so special about I-Vxion?
I-Vxion is a functional food product to take care of our eyes.
It has 5 benefits which are:
1) Shield against blue light
2) Improves tear production
3) Improves overall blood flow around eyes
4) Improves ocular pressure
5) Improves field of vision
The above benefits for the eye are achieved with 3 types of ingredients which are marigold extract, maqui berry extract and black currant extract.
In the following section, I want to highlight on I-Vxion benefit in helping us to shield against blue light because that is what I want for my kids.
Which ingredients in I-Vxion that can help to shield against blue light?
Apparently, it’s the marigold extract.
According to www.nutriavenue.com:
“Marigold Extract is a popular beneficial ingredient obtained from the flowers and leaves of Calendula officinalis, a flowering plant that is prevalent in the southern European Regions.
Several compounds may be isolated from Marigold Extract but the key ingredients of the extract are the compounds Lutein and Zeaxanthin.
Both Lutein and Zeaxanthin are highly recommended for use in dietary supplement products for optimum eyesight.”
What is Lutein?
“Lutein is a type of organic pigment called a carotenoid. It is related to beta-carotene and vitamin A. Many people think of lutein as “the eye vitamin.” – WebMD.
What is Zeaxanthin?
“Zeaxanthin is a common carotenoid, a pigment found in high levels in dark green vegetables, orange and yellow fruits, and egg yolks.
It is also one of only two carotenoids found in the human eye, where it helps protect the eyes from the harmful effects of oxidation and light.” – Verywell Health.
According to www.nutraceuticalsworld.com:
“A new peer reviewed publication based on ongoing research on macular carotenoids from the University of Georgia demonstrated that supplementation with lutein and zeaxanthin isomers can protect against a growing issue among the general population—the undesirable effects of prolonged exposure to high-energy blue light emitted from digital screens of computers, tablets and smartphones.”
To learn more about the above publication, you can read the paper published on the National Library of Medicine titled “A review of the current state of research on artificial blue light safety as it applies to digital devices”.
All the 3 key ingredients in I-Vxion are very potent and beneficial for the health of our eyes.
The marigold extract especially with Lutein and Zeaxanthin will definitely help parents that want to protect their kids eye from blue light emitted from digital device screen.
