My wife and I are both professional network marketers.
We have been building our network marketing business by partnering with BE International since March 2018.
In this article, I thought of sharing a tip on how to increase your chances of becoming successful in building a multi-level marketing (MLM) or network marketing business in Malaysia.
If you want to become successful in MLM, it is best to build it as a couple.
Please allow me to share with you the following story.
Not too long ago, one of our blog readers reached out to us on WhatsApp.
His name is Andrew and he was keen to venture into the network marketing business.
He has never done MLM business and has been reading our blog for tips on how to get started in network marketing.
Below is the screen capture of our initial WhatsApp conversation.
Whenever someone reached out to us expressing their interest in starting a MLM business, I will always ask them whether he or she is single or married.
What’s the reason I asked them their marital status?
Honestly, I wanted to know what are the chances of the person continue working on the business.
From my experience building a network marketing business by partnering with BE International, I’ve noticed most of the successful leaders are building the business as a couple or as husband and wife.
That’s including me and my wife.
No doubt there are many single man and woman who are building the business as a single, but they are a small percentage compared to those that are building it as a couple.
Therefore, if someone wants to start a MLM business, it is best to do it as a couple or as husband and wife.
As you can see from the screen capture above, Andrew also started to notice the pattern.
Why a husband and wife couple has a higher chance of succeeding in building a network marketing business?
Just like with any conventional business, building a network marketing business is simple, but not easy.
He or she will face a lot of challenges!
One of the challenges they will experience is the unsupportive spouse.
From my personal experience working with other BE Independent Business Owner (IBO) within our network, when the spouse is not supportive of the other half in building a network marketing business, they will start off well in their business but will slow down after some time.
Most will just mentally quit and stop building the business.
I remember we have a business partner from Brunei that started her BE business very strong and grew very fast.
However, every time we want to have a Zoom meeting at night, she will always give excuses for not being able to join our discussion.
Back then, we were still in the Movement Control Order (MCO) in Malaysia and our meetings have to be done on Zoom.
We weren’t sure why she didn’t want to join our night time Zoom meetings.
Later, we found out that her husband wasn’t very supportive of her building her network marketing business using the BE International business opportunity.
If she was to go on Zoom at home after dinner time, her husband will get angry at her.
Her husband will also question her why she was spending so much time in the business and not spending time with her family.
Because they were located in Brunei and my wife and I are in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, we did not have a chance to meet with her husband.
We didn’t have a chance to connect with him and build a friendly relationship.
After a couple of months, as expected, she stopped working on her business.
If her husband was supportive of her in her MLM journey, probably she would have built a strong and growing business by now due to her hard work and dedication.
Alas, we are always learning from our experience in this wonderful journey call network marketing.
That’s why whenever our blog readers reached out to us expressing their interest in starting a network marketing business, I will always ask them whether they are single or married.
If they are married, I will try to meet with their spouse and show them the BE International marketing plan together.
They have to decided as a couple whether they want to be part of our team or not.
If they’ve decided to be part of our team, we’ll be able to help them and they’ll have a higher chance to become successful in their network marketing venture.
