What is our story with BE?
Our introduction to BE began back in December 2017 through the Aulora Pants with Kodenshi.
It was only in March 2018 that we’ve decided to be serious in building a business using the business opportunity provided by BE.
As of today, our BE business is now our full time career.
If you want to buy product from BE or you want to be one of its Independent Business Owner (IBO), everything begins by registering as a member.
In this article, I thought of sharing the process to register as a member of BE International.
More specifically, I will be sharing why you need to scan your Identity Card (IC) when you want to register as a member.
To register as a BE Malaysia member, you will need the help of a sponsor to share with you the member registration link.
The role of a sponsor is to provide customer service to you and help to answer any of your questions in regards to the product from BE.
The BE member registration process is different compared to other companies because you have to go through a process known as Electronic Know Your Customer or EKYC.
The EKYC process is where you have to take a picture of your actual identity card using your smartphone camera.
I have had customers that asked, “Why do I have to scan my IC?”
“Why go through all the trouble just to sign up as a member?”
Please allow me to explain.
Previously, the BE member registration can be done without the EKYC process.
However, in the year 2022, the founder of BE International decided to implement a requirement from Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM).
The BNM requirement is the digital on-boarding policy to enable account opening anytime and anywhere with EKYC.
BNM aim was to accelerate and streamline practices of industry players in their adoption of EKYC technology which is the online process of identifying and verifying individual customers.
The adoption of EKYC technology by the industry is in line with the BNM’s efforts to facilitate greater digital offerings of financial services.
This is expected to pave the way for greater innovation in the financial sector, including end-to-end offering of digital financial services for customers.
With the implementation of EKYC, a majority of customers no longer need to visit the physical premises of a financial service provider to open an account.
In addition to increased customer convenience, the digital on-boarding of customers enabled by EKYC also lowers cost for both users and providers.
This can also help increase competition in the financial sector over the long term.
Though the BNM’s EKYC requirement is for the financial sector, but BE International is a direct selling company…why go through such a hassle?
The founder be BE International actually has explained it to us.
Even though BE International is not in the financial sector, the founder of BE wanted to “future proof” the process of registering as a member.
The founder of BE foresee that EKYC will be a norm in the future to ensure security and integrity of the on-boarding process for customers for every industry.
Though the implementation of EKYC technology is very expensive, BE founder decided to “bite the bullet” and implement the system anyway for the benefit all BE members.
Therefore, when you clicked on the registration link provided by your sponsor, you are required to enter your IC number and then perform the EKYC by taking a picture of your physical IC front and back using your smartphone camera.
Using artificial intelligent (AI) and machine learning (ML), your personal details such as full name and IC number will be captured from your identity card, verified and recorded in the system.
These are important information attached your BE member account which cannot be changed.
As an additional security feature, whenever someone try to use your IC number to register a BE member account, the system will reject the application due to duplicate name and IC number found the system.
As a BE member, you will receive purchase rebate for your own purchases of BE product.
The rebate in cash form will be paid out monthly and will only be transferred into your bank account as per your name listed on your IC.
The cash rebate cannot be transferred to a third party bank account.
Therefore, the EKYC process not only provides convenience to register a BE member account, it also provides a level of security to protect your personal identity and purchase rebate.
